JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE:              Office Administrator

SALARY:                  Full-Time (Hourly)

FLSA STATUS:        Non-Exempt

SUPERVISOR:         Founding Partner

 

FIRM OVERVIEW:  L.L. Dunn Law Firm, PLLC (Firm) is a for-profit law firm with its principal office in Washington, DC, and the second branch in Arlington, VA.  Firm zealously advances and enforces victims’ rights and whistleblower protections in campus, criminal, and civil proceedings nationwide.

 

POSITION & DESCRIPTION:  The Office Administrator will work in either the DC or VA office to support Firm with postal mail, answering phones, processing receipts, making bank deposits, monitoring online social media, developing website content, and other duties as needed.  Candidate must be available to work Monday through Friday while offices are open 8:30 am to 5:30 pm with some flexibility offered.  This hourly wage position has the potential to become a salaried position with promotion potential to become an Office Manager.

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Manage external communications received by Firm, including answering phones, responding to emails, scheduling meetings, and handling postal mail.
  2. Support Firm’s Legal Assistant with case file management, including following up on records requests to potential clients and third-party providers.
  3. Assist with litigation-related mailings, purchases, and bank deposits.
  4. Perform basic bookkeeping for Firm by entering expense receipts, pulling monthly statements, and monitoring invoice payments with reminders to clients.
  5. Manage Firm’s online presence posting on social media, as well as updating Firm’s website with recent news and events.
  6. Organize and maintain Firm contacts in various software systems.
  7. Perform other duties that may be assigned from time to time by Firm.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma (or equivalent).
  • Strong writing, proofreading, spelling, grammar, and punctuation skills.
  • Proficiency with Apple products, systems, and devices.
  • Proficiency with Google Suite and social media platforms (i.e., TikTok, Twitter, etc.)
  • Punctual, reliable, detail-oriented, and self-organized.
  • Tech savvy (meaning capability to learn new software and programs as needed).

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Prior employment within the legal or advocacy field.
  • Previous training and/or education in trauma-informed communications.
  • Prior familiarity with the ethical standards of the legal profession and ability to keep confidentiality and privileged information for potential, current, and former clients.
  • Experience working in trauma-informed settings.
  • College degree preferred.

 

WAGES & BENEFITS

  • $20-$35/hour commensurate with prior work experience and double for overtime.
  • Federal holidays off and unlimited paid time off (PTO).
